燕が南から飛来するころ
春の陽を浴びて輝く、新芽や新緑の清々しいイメージの清明。今年は雨が多く、少し先の楽しみになりそうです。
Seimei has a refreshing image of new buds and fresh greenery shining in the spring sun. There’s been a lot of rain this year, so it looks like we will be able to enjoy it a little later in the season.

When the swallows fly in from the south.
北半球は暖かくなり、南から燕がやって来る季節になりました。過去に行われた足輪調査によると、日本に来る燕たちは、冬のあいだ主に東南アジアで暮らしているようです。
It’s getting warmer in the Northern Hemisphere, and it’s the season for swallows to arrive from the south. According to surveys conducted in the past, the swallows that come to Japan seem to live mainly in Southeast Asia during the winter.
1980年台の曲に「越冬つばめ」がありますが、実際、宮崎や鹿児島では北日本から移動してきた燕たちもいるとか（彼らにとっては南へ帰った、のかもしれません）生き物たちの習性は、幾つもの答えをもつようで興味深いですね。
There is a song from the 1980s called “Ettou Tsubame,” and in fact, in Miyazaki and Kagoshima, there are swallows that have migrated from northern Japan (perhaps they have returned to the south).It’s interesting that the habits of living things seem to have many answers.
