古暦と現代の暦には「七曜暦」でも異なる部分がある。

七曜とは？/What’s Shichiyou?
太陽，月と水星，金星，火星，木星，土星の七つの天体のこと。
また日曜から土曜までの週日の総称。上記七つの天体の位置を示す七曜暦を作ることは《延喜式》に規定されていた。また東洋の星座である二十八宿と結びつけ日の吉凶を判断するために，七曜は今のような週日制のためではなく暦注として弘法大師により9世紀に輸入された。
藤原道長の日記には曜日がつけられている。そのころの具注暦には日曜のことを密または蜜と注している場合がある。
