72 pentads is Fukinohanasaku. When Japanese butterburs sprout under the snow. Although signs of spring are coming and going, the cold is becoming even more severe.
1年の中で最も寒さ厳しい時候。手が悴(かじか)むような朝も、気がつけば日の出の時刻が早くなり、空が太陽に染まることも。雪に覆われた大地では、小さくとも逞しい新しい生命(いのち)が顔を覗かせようとしています。
冬の寒さが、休息と力を蓄える機会を与えてくれるように、私たちも目の前のことだけでなく、この先を見据えて慈愛と自愛のときを過ごしたいですね。
The coldest time of the year. Even in the morning when your hands feel numb, you may notice that the sun rises earlier and the sky is dyed by the sun. On the snow-covered earth, a small but strong new life is about to peek out.
Just as the cold winter gives us an opportunity to rest and gather strength, we also want to spend time with self-compassion, looking not just at what’s right in front of us, but also at what lies ahead.
