When the thunder starts.

春を告げる雷、春雷(しゅんらい) 桜の開花が気になる頃に、この雷を耳にすると「ああ、春がやって来る」と実感します。文字通り「春来(しゅんらい)」です。

かつては『地震・雷・火事・親父』と恐ろしいものに挙げられた雷。心情的には、敬う対象としての「畏れ」に近い気がします。

（現代では、４番目は恐ろしい存在なのか…微妙ですが）

Shunrai/春雷, the thunder that heralds spring. When you hear this thunder around the time when the cherry blossoms are about to bloom, you realize that spring is coming. It literally means “Shunrai/春来”.

Lightning used to be considered a scary thing, such as “earthquakes, lightning, fire, and father”. Emotionally, I feel that it is similar to “awe” as an object to be respected.

(In today’s world, is the 4th one a scary thing? It’s not clear.)
