二十四節気(にじゅうしせっき)は春分(しゅんぶん)昼と夜の長さがほぼ等しくなる。
七十二候(しちじゅうにこう)は雀始巣(すずめはじめてすくう)雀が巣をつくり始める。
24 Solar Terms is Syunbun= Vernal equinox.When the length of day and night are almost equal.
72 pentads is Suzumehajimetesukuu.When sparrows start building nests.
雀といえば、昔話にも登場する日本人には「身近にいる」「馴染み深い」鳥ですよね。そのため、いるのが当たり前だと思っていたら、シドニー在住の友人に「こちら（オーストラリア）には雀はいない」と教えられ、ちょっとびっくり。
環境省・自然観光局の情報によると
『ユーラシアの温帯および亜寒帯に広く分布』
『日本では小笠原諸島を除く全国で繁殖』
とその生息域が紹介されています。
その一方で、雀の個体数が減っているというという報道を何度か目にしました。自然の生態系が守られ、人も雀も暮らしやすい世の中であるようにと願います。
Speaking of sparrows, they are birds that are familiar to Japanese people and appear in folk tales. For this reason, I thought it was normal for sparrows to exist, but I was a bit surprised when a friend who lives in Sydney told me that there are no sparrows there (Australia).
According to information from the Ministry of the Environment/Natural Tourism Bureau
“Widely distributed in temperate and subarctic regions of Eurasia”
“In Japan, it breeds all over the country except for the Ogasawara Islands.”
and its habitat are introduced.
On the other hand, I have seen several reports that the number of sparrows is decreasing. I hope that the natural ecosystem will be protected and the world will be a comfortable place for both people and sparrows to live.
